Glastonbury 2025

My 6th time at the greatest place on earth, and the reason to have hope in humanity. I went with a fantastic group of friends who I love and who love music and dancing and wringing every last drop of life out of the 5 days we’re allowed to be free.

The following are all quotes overheard somewhere in a field in Somerset…

The safest way is the tit. Oh no, my water baby. I’ll conform! I’ll take a brown one. Water is wet. I’ve got sympathetic accent syndrome. It’s my job to take the drugs; it’s his job to know where they are. I hope it’s a banana. I’ve just noticed his nipples. My jaw’s going but my eyes haven’t followed. I was doing every single guitar riff with my mouth. I’ve lost my shoe. I thought you asked me if I’d had a bolognese. We’re between the squids and the wizards. You can’t be excited for her, she’s dead. Do you like my box? It’s hairy.

Glastonbury - you’re hard work but you never disappoint.

Cultural Diet - May 2025

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. May was lovely. Sunshine! Wedding (not mine)! Birthday (mine)!

Yes, I turned 37 and I don’t understand how we got here so soon. But I did what everyone hurtling towards the grave does - I did my first parkrun and joined Mensa.

Cultural Diet - April 2025

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. April was warm and the extra daylight has been great for the old menty hel (mental health).

Cultural Diet - March 2025

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. March has marched on out, but spring is here and summer is on the way. I managed to get my new office space decorated (but the cat isn’t very happy about it).

Cultural Diet - February 2025

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. February was quite the month for me. For personal reasons as well as feeling like the year has really taken off. Time is moving so fast, and there’s a lot I want to experience. Bring on spring!

Cultural Diet - January 2025

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. January was long. And busy. And sober.

Work has been getting busier and so I’ve fallen into a trap of putting something on in the background in the evening and barely paying attention. Gigs are back in Feb though, got some good ones in the diary.

There is Thrill in the Friction

This post is part of the IndieWeb Carnival, V.H. Belvadi is hosting this initiative for January.

Cultural Diet - December 2024

A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month. After November’s hectic gig schedule, this month was rather quieter with the festive holidays in mind. As we got closer to the winter solstice and it got dark and cold from 2pm, staying in and watching TV or a film became my preferred choice.

I hope you had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas break and you’re looking forward with hope into 2025.

🎡Now Playing: This Is Lorelei - Box for Buddy, Box for Star (2024)

This was The Lovely Robin’sℒ️ best album of the year, and it had completely passed me by so I thought I’d throw it on today. A lovely piece of work.

Best Tracks:

  • Perfect Hand
  • I’m All F****d Up
  • Dancing in the Club
  • An Extra Beat for You and Me

🎡Now Playing: Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land (2004)

Not gone through the back catalogue of Biffy for a while. Blackened Sky is still my favourite album but this occasionally bangs.

Best Tracks:

  • Glitter and Trauma
  • Wave Upon Wave Upon Wave
