Reading Habits for 2025
Itβs December, so obviously, Iβm in reflection modeβlooking back on the year, spotting the wins, and acknowledging where thereβs room to improve. One area that I failed at this year was reading more.
Alright mate? This is the digital home of Daniel Savage, a small man who is trying very hard to exist.

π΅Now Playing: Joshua Idehen - Mum Does The Washing EP (2024)
My Spotify algorithm came good suggesting this to me. Absolutely loved it. Sharp, clever, heartfelt lyrics with great production. I see he’s playing Manchester in April, might have to grab a ticket.

Here are the best things I found on the internet last week. Couple poems, a video, and a few interesting articles. Good for a toilet break or two.
A run down of everything I’ve consumed this month.
November has been busy. I’ve overdone it and December is supposed to be the month of excess. It has, however, also been fun. And that’s important too.
Manchester United 4 - 0 Everton.
What a great day to have a ticket. We definitely need a new stadium but there’s still something special about Old Trafford in the sun. Diallo was superb.
π΅Now Playing: Yannis & The Yaw - Lagos Paris London EP (2024)
A dream collaboration between The Foals singer and the legendary drummer Tony Allen. Result is a Foals-y sound with the groove turned up to 11.
Best tracks:
Ok, it’s time to admit it. I’m a Manchester United fan. Good win tonight.

They didn’t make this album for listening to at work, they made it for dancing.

π΅Now Playing: Kendrick Lamar - GNX (2024)
Had to give this a chance after all the hype. Not my fave of his back catalog, but it could be a grower.

I’ve been thinking about giving up the booze for a while. Wasting days hungover just isn’t the one anymore.
I thought January 1st would be a good marker but that’s just an excuse to push it down the road, rather than to make the improvement immediately. Especially with Dec being a month of excess.

Hello, this post means danielsavage.uk is back online! Yes, I’m going to be blogging again like I’m on geocities (yes, I’ve been writing on the web before Tumblr). Now it’s being hosted on micro.blog (thanks @manton.org), which feels likes everything I ever wanted from the internet. I’ve added some pages for my culture tracking (books, gigs, vinyl collection) and I’ll keep adding over this week. And blogging my thoughts more regularly.
