Every gig I've been to since 2003 is now on the record. 312 of them, from Stereophonics that year through to Alabama Shakes in Memphis this April. Where setlist.fm has the setlist, you can click through and see exactly what was played.
If you head to the Department of Culture I've also added year filters across all the cultural filings, so you can see year by year what I've been watching, reading and listening to.
Websites are so fun!
New Mercury Prize shortlist announced today. I try to listen to all the albums before the winner is announced in October, but I'm tempted to go right back to the beginning and listen to the shortlist for each year! Who knows if I'll have the time or motivation but it would make a nice series for the Department of Culture to delve into.
Please get in touch to let me know what you think of this year's shortlist and who deserved a spot!
Handed in my notice this week to start something new! Excited. I will, of course, remain in my role as PM of my own life. You can’t really hand your notice in for that.
What a horrible final with a horrible half time show run by a horrible (and corrupt) institution with horrible losers. I think the beautiful game has now, officially, gone.
(3 weeks until the Prem starts up again.)
Just watched the First Night of the Proms (another jewel in the BBC crown we should be fighting to keep alive). They close with Wonderwall. Oasis continue to be a phenomenon.
Very orange sun in Salford this evening. Probably due to the fires at dovestone.
I’m not going to say it. But, it could, couldn’t it? ⚽️🏴🦁🦁🦁

A man who really wants a sandwich is more interesting than a man who sort of wants to cure cancer.

Last night I went to a live showing of the Taskmaster finale. There was a quiz beforehand (we won of course) and got to meet Amy Gledhill! What a lovely time.
Success! My new site design is now live on danielsavage.uk - I'm not sure how the RSS feed is going to work but it should pick up these posts.
It's my birthday.
Behold! I have returned from a hike.
Went to see Nick Mulvey sing some songs and he did a very good job. Well done Nick.
I have returned to my constituency after my fantastic visit over the pond. Someone is very happy to see me.
I went to see the King, but he wasn’t in. Lovely house though.
Arrived in Memphis a couple of days ago. Much more chilled, but still with great music. Have done Stax museum today. What a label. Then ate at Johnnie Mae’s down the road for some soul food.
Spent the evening on the roof of the Peabody Hotel watching the sun go down over the river.
Watched the sun set on the banks of the Mississippi River listening to Mon Rovîa and Alabama Shakes. Pretty special.
My friends got married! And what a great day and great party we all had. Friends are the best.
I have awoken in Nashville for the first day proper. Long day of travelling yesterday but seem to have beaten the jet lag, even with sleep broken by trains sounding their horn 10m away from my window.
It’s 6:40am and I’ve been up for an hour. The rest of the AirBNB seems to still be asleep. I’m wondering when I can start moving to get breakfast.
Excited to travel to Tennessee tomorrow to try to save international relations between our two countries (by eating lots of BBQ and listening to Johnny, Dolly and Elvis). 🇺🇸
Spent the afternoon in Tangerine a new bar/kitchen in Salford. I can see why they called it that.
It’s all in the doing.
Everyone can think, or say, or intend. But it’s in the doing that you find it.
Hello. This is a silly website for a silly person.
